Credits measure AI auto-translate usage. The cost per language scales with how much text the model has to translate — short labels cost 2 credits each, paragraphs cost 5, long-form copy up to 16. The auto-translate button always shows the exact credit cost before you confirm — no surprises.

Source length × languages × tier multiplier: 2× for short labels (≤ 80 chars), 3× for sentences (≤ 250), 5× for paragraphs (≤ 800), 8× for long-form copy (≤ 1,600), and 16× for very long strings (> 1,600). So a 5-language translation costs 10 credits on a button label, 25 credits on a 600-char paragraph, or 80 credits on a 1,800-char block. The longest accepted string is 2,000 characters — split longer content into multiple keys.

When your monthly AI credits run out, any paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Team) can buy one-time top-up packs (Sprint, Project, Big push) without changing your subscription — or upgrade to a larger monthly allowance. Top-up credits never expire. We spend your monthly allowance first (it resets each calendar month — use it or lose it), then dip into your top-up packs.

Each plan includes a generous number of seats. Adding teammates above the included count is priced per seat per month — clearly shown before you add them. Starter is +$5/seat, Pro +$4/seat, Team +$3/seat. You always see the new total before confirming.

Annual billing is 10× the monthly price, so you get 2 months free. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time from the billing page.

Yes — and your first paid subscription comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If nlit isn't a fit, email support@nlit.app within 14 days of the initial charge for a full refund (applies once per account; not to renewals or AI credit top-up packs). After that window, you can still cancel anytime from the billing page — you keep access until the end of your current billing period and nothing renews after. We don't issue refunds for unused time on renewals.

You can add unlimited target languages to a project on every paid plan — no charge for that. The only language-related cost is AI auto-translate, and even there the cost scales with the length of each string (see "How are credits charged per length?" above). For a typical UI button into 20 languages, that's 40 credits.
